Book Project

Book project is a new intervention initiated by Terre des homes Switzerland (tdh) and Baobao Book Project - Switzerland since January 2009, aiming at empowering communities especially children to be able to write and read their own traditional stories. The main focus is to preserve our cultural identity. Five words were selected as sample study for one year Those Wards are KATORO, KALANGALALA, MTAKUJA, KASAMWA, and LUBANGA within Geita district of Tanzania. 

It is almost eight months now since the trainees were trained on how to write and prepare story books and how to empower others especially children to participate in the project.
